Charges levied against Wilson suspects caught with drugs and a firearm

ESCANABA, MI— Two men arrested on drug and firearms charges Sunday have been arraigned in Delta County.

Colton Brunette, 23, and Tristan Halfaday, 20—both of Wilson—were in a vehicle that was stopped Sunday near the Island Resort & Casino. Deputies found a number of different drugs and an illegal firearm and ammunition in the vehicle.

Halfaday is charged with conspiracy to delivery/manufacture a controlled substance (cocaine, heroin or another narcotic), 50 to 449 grams, two counts of conspiracy to deliver/manufacture a controlled substance (schedules 1, 2 and 3 except marijuana and cocaine), three counts of carrying a concealed weapon, and felony possession of a weapon.

Brunette is charged with conspiracy to deliver/manufacture a controlled substance (cocaine, heroin or another narcotic), 50 to 449 grams and two counts of conspiracy to deliver/manufacture a controlled substance (schedules 1, 2 and 3 except marijuana and cocaine).

A preliminary exam is set for March 6 in Delta County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
