ESCANABA, MI— A Gladstone man has been arraigned on various charges after he led police on a high-speed chase in Escanaba Tuesday afternoon.
An officer with the Escanaba Department of Public Safety tried to stop Ernest Dillabough, 23, on a felony warrant during a traffic stop. Dillabough took off at a high rate of speed near Escanaba High School.
The officer discontinued the pursuit in the interest of public safety. A citizen later reported a suspicious man walking near a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car. Officers took Dillabough into custody and found about 11 grams of meth on him.
Dillabough has been arraigned on charges of delivery/manufacture of meth, 3rd-degree fleeing and eluding a police officer, and resisting/obstructing an officer.
A preliminary exam is scheduled for April 3.
