Negaunee man to spend up to 15 years in prison for distributing child sexually abusive activity

MARQUETTE, MI— A Negaunee man charged with possessing child sexually abusive material has been sentenced.

John Fitzgerald Anderson, 22, was arrested by Michigan State Police last August and charged with 9 counts of aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive activity and 9 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He pleaded guilty in March to the distribution charges. The other charges were dismissed.

Anderson was sentenced Thursday in Marquette County Circuit Court to 10 to 15 years in prison.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
