ESCANABA, MI— An Escanaba man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for producing and attempting to produce child sexually abusive material.
The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip about the possible exploitation of children and forwarded it to the Escanaba Department of Public Safety.
Detectives say during August and September of 2022 Miller misrepresented himself as a 14-year-old boy on a social media app. They say he knowingly persuaded and enticed a minor under the age of 12 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing photos and videos of the activity.
A search warrant determined Miller was conducting the activity from his Escanaba home. Another search warrant of the house yielded electronic devices containing evidence to support the allegations.
Miller will spend the rest of his life on supervised release.
