Norway man extradited from California sentenced for criminal sexual conduct against minors

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— A former Norway resident was sentenced Monday to 8 to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting two minors.

Trentin McWilliams, 24, most recently lived in California. The Michigan Attorney General’s Office says he pled “no contest” in May to second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a child at a relative’s residence in 2018.

McWilliams also pled guilty to two counts of third-degree CSC for assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a vehicle in October of 2022.

McWilliams was extradited to Dickinson County in September 2024 by the U.S. Marshals Service as part of Operation Survivor Justice. The Operation is a partnership between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service to locate, apprehend, and return to Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
