LANSING, MI— The Michigan Court of Appeals has upheld the sentence of a former Kingsford man for sexual assault.
In 2023, Justin Harvala, 36, was sentenced to 142 months to 35 years’ incarceration after he was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. A “nannycam” caught him sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl at her home in 2021.
In its opinion, the Court of Appeals rejected Harvala’s arguments that there was insufficient evidence supporting his conviction and that his sentence was unreasonable and disproportionate.
