Patrick Crowley running for 96th District Court judgeship

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette County’s Chief Public Defender is running for 96th District Court Judge.

Patrick Crowley announced his candidacy Tuesday. He’s a Michigan native and alumnus of Northern Michigan University.

Crowley began his career as a prosecutor, then ran a law firm, practicing criminal, family, civil, and landlord/tenant law.

“As the Chief Public Defender and trial attorney, I have zealously advocated for justice and the rule of law, supported our constitution, and worked for equitable access to our courts in service of our community’s values. I’m honored by the opportunity to continue this work from the bench,” he said.

Current District Court Judge Roger Kangas is retiring next year.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
