Escanaba man sentenced for criminal sexual conduct, child sexually abusive material charges

ESCANABA, MI— An Escanaba man has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for criminal sexual conduct and other felonies.

The Escanaba Department of Public Safety received a complaint about Joshua Herington, 39, in February and launched an investigation.
On Monday, Herington received the following sentence:

  • 3 counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material—80 months to 10 years
  • 3 counts of using a computer to commit a crime—38 months to 10 years
  • 2 counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct—57 months to 15 years

All sentences will be served concurrently.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
