Ishpeming man headed to prison on child sexually abusive activity charges

MARQUETTE, MI— An Ishpeming man was recently sentenced for charges related to child sexually abusive activity.

Timothy Romback, 58, was arrested by the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in July of 2024. He was charged with 10 counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity and 10 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Romback pled guilty in March to three counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity. The other charges were dismissed.

Romback was sentenced to 5 to 25 years in prison on each charge with 17 days’ credit for time served.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
