Man arrested on child sexually abusive material charges headed to Marquette Circuit Court

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man accused of possessing child sexually abusive material has been bound over to circuit court.

Joseph Bowers, 31, is charged with five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in October for possessing, manufacturing, and distributing the material on the internet.

Bowers was bound over at a preliminary hearing Wednesday. Circuit court arraignment is set for December 19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
