Man convicted of criminal sexual conduct in Houghton County sentenced to 25-50 years in prison

HOUGHTON, MI— A Marquette man has been sentenced in Houghton County on criminal sexual conduct charges.

Ward Glass, 69, was convicted of six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was accused of sexually assaulting a minor who lived in his home multiple times between 1993 and 1996.

The victim filed a complaint with the Michigan State Police in 2024 after encountering Glass after nearly three decades. He was charged by the Department of Attorney General in September 2024.

Glass was sentenced this week to 25 to 50 years in prison.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
