Manistique robbery suspects arraigned

MANISTIQUE, MI— Two people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Manistique convenience store in December.

On the 22nd, a man walked in and demanded money from the till. He fled on foot, but officers couldn’t find the suspect.

Officials released an image of a person of interest, who was identified through the efforts of Manistique Public Safety, Michigan State Police, and the public.

Following a month-long investigation, two people were taken into custody and arraigned in 93rd District Court.

Joshua Jackson, 43, is charged with robbery, possession of meth/ecstasy, and second-degree retail fraud. Kaela Clark, 32, is charged with harboring a felon, possession of meth/ecstasy, and writing a check with insufficient funds.

Clark was released on a personal recognizance bond. Jackson was lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
