ESCANABA, MI— And the verdict is guilty.

That’s what a Delta County jury decided following an eight-day trial for Tavaris Jackson, who was accused of killing Harley Corwin in 2023. The 22-year-old Corwin was 7 months pregnant. Her body was found in the woods in Ford River Township.

Following more than 24 hours of deliberation, jurors found Jackson guilty Thursday on all three counts of open murder, assault of a pregnant individual intentionally causing miscarriage/stillbirth, and felony firearms.

Sentencing is set for June 2 in Delta County Circuit Court.
