Probation violation sends Menominee man to prison

MENOMINEE, MI— A Menominee man was sentenced to prison this month for violating his probation on an underlying drunk driving conviction.

Edward Hollsten, 38, was originally sentenced to 10 months in jail and three years of probation for operating while intoxicated—third offense in October of 2023.

Menominee County Prosecutor Jeffrey Rogg says Hollsten violated his probation by drinking to excess several times in 2025. His blood alcohol content was once three times over the legal limit. Hollsten was also arrested twice for domestic violence during that time.

On June 5, he was sentenced in 41st Circuit Court to 17 months to five years in prison
