Calumet suspect who pled to CSC with kids under 13 to spend up to 15 years in prison

HOUGHTON, MI— A Calumet man will spend 57 months to 15 years in prison for inappropriately touching two young girls.

Chad Just, 41, was investigated by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office last year after the victims’ mother reported the crimes. One incident happened in 2022, when the children were staying at his residence.

Just was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct involving children under the age of 13. He was sentenced Wednesday in Houghton County Circuit Court.

Just must also register as a sex offender and be subject to lifetime electronic monitoring. He was given credit for 79 days already served.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
