MARQUETTE, MI— Trial began this week for an Ishpeming woman charged with homicide and arson.
Julie Boxley, 54, is accused of setting a fire that killed 72-year-old Ishpeming resident Glenn Andrews in March of 2023. He was the manager of Glenn’s Smokehouse.
Boxley’s charged with first-degree homicide and first-degree arson. She was living with Andrews at the time of the fire.
Andrews had burns on the upper portion of his body. Boxley had none. She says she jumped from a second-story window to escape the blaze, while Andrews fled downstairs.
Trial could last for up to two weeks.
