Mackinac Bridge crash suspect arraigned

ST. IGNACE, MI— Michigan State Police have released the name of the suspect charged in a crash on the Mackinac Bridge Wednesday morning.

Redane Smith, 28, of Jamaica is charged with one count of reckless driving, causing serious impairment of a body function. Two people were seriously injured in the crash and two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith remains lodged in the Mackinac County Jail on a $100,000 bond. A probable cause conference is set for October 5 and a preliminary exam for October 13 in 92^nd District Court.
