Man accused in Chocolay stabbing incident arraigned

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI— Officials have released the name of the suspect accused of stabbing a man in Chocolay Township Friday night.

Joshua Grenier, 36, was arraigned Monday on one count of assault with intent to murder. He allegedly assaulted a juvenile, then stabbed a 32-year-old man who confronted him after the assault. The victim was seriously injured.

Grenier remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $100,000 bond. A probable cause conference is set for October 15 and a preliminary exam for November 5.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
