Inmate dies at Alger County prison

MUNISING, MI--   The Michigan Department of Corrections and detectives from the Negaunee State Police Post are investigating the death of a prison inmate. 

 

Officials say the 39-year-old died Thursday at the Alger Maximum Correctional Facility in Munising.

 

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at Marquette General Hospital.  The Michigan State Police Forensic Lab in Marquette is assisting with the investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
