Man stabbed in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing incident early Monday morning. 

Officers were called to the 500 block of Wright Street on a report of a woman screaming.  They discovered an assault in which a knife was used had taken place.  The victim—a 19-year-old Marquette man—was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of several stab wounds.  He’s expected to be released later Monday.

A suspect in the case has been identified and is being sought by authorities.  Public Radio 90 will release additional information as it becomes available. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
