Names released in Marquette stabbing

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police have released the names of two suspects in connection with a stabbing incident in the city early Monday morning.

Officers were called to 520 Wright Street on a report of a woman screaming.  Investigation reveals the victim and resident of the home, Zachary Skinner, 19, got into a fight with Danny Weymouth, 19, of Ishpeming.  During the fight Weymouth’s girlfriend, Taylor Mitchell, 19, of Ishpeming, allegedly joined Weymouth in Skinner’s assault.  During the altercation a knife was produced and Skinner was stabbed in the head, leg, and back—allegedly by Mitchell.

Skinner was taken to Marquette General Hospital, treated, and released the same day.

The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case for formal charges.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
