Millions in marijuana plants discovered in Wisconsin

MARINETTE COUNTY, WI--   Officials are calling it one of the biggest pot seizures in Wisconsin history.

More than 13,000 marijuana plants have been found at two properties in Central Marinette County, and five Green Bay residents face federal charges.

Brian Magana, Javier Magana, Manuel Mendoza, Marco Magana, and Maria Hilda Magana-Mendoza are accused of growing the plants in the towns of Athelstane and Middle Inlet.  They face up to life in prison and $10 million in fines, if convicted.

Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation say the marijuana has an estimated street value of $1,000 per plant—or $13 million.
