Marquette officers search for hit-and-run driver

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police are looking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident in the city. 

Officers say Saturday around 2:45 a.m. a 22-year-old Marquette man was riding a bicycle on Fitch Avenue when he was struck by a tan passenger car.  The car left the scene southbound on Fitch. 

The bicyclist was taken to Marquette General Hospital and treated for minor lacerations and abrasions.  It’s unknown if the vehicle sustained damage. 

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Marquette Police at 228-0400. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
