MARQUETTE, MI--   City police have declared the death of a Marquette man "suspicious."

Detective Captain Gordon Warchock says authorities don’t know how Shawn Dollar, 34, received the injuries that caused his death.

Dollar was declared missing last Thursday.  His body was found Friday afternoon in a vacant building at 231 West Washington Street.

Warchock notes that doesn’t mean the case is a homicide, but that police need to do more interviews and further investigation to determine what happened.  He says it’s not an open-and-shut case, and authorities have not yet received a full autopsy report from the medical examiner’s office.

Public Radio 90 will release more information as it becomes available.
