Peters bound over on murder charges

BESSEMER, MI--   A Bessemer man accused of killing his 79-year-old wife has been bound over to circuit court.

Fifty-year-old Kenneth Wayne Peters is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and second-degree abuse of a vulnerable adult.  Gogebic County Judge Anders Tingstad ruled Thursday there was enough evidence in the case to hold a trial.

Ethel Grzena Peters was last seen August 3 in Bessemer.  Her body was found ten days later in Watersmeet Township.

Arraignment is set for October 9 in Gogebic County Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
