Ishpeming man pleads to meth charge

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Ishpeming man arrested in a May methamphetamine bust has pleaded guilty to one of two charges. 

Robert Fields, 29, was taken into custody after police found suspected meth and meth lab components at his home on Superior Street.

Fields was charged with operating/maintaining a meth lab and delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine.  As part of a deal Monday he pleaded to the delivery/manufacture charge, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. 

Sentencing is set for November 2. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
