Escanaba man sentenced on robbery, drug charges

ESCANABA, MI--   An Escanaba man has been sentenced on an unarmed robbery charge.

Kyle Doneau, 23, pleaded no contest to breaking into a vehicle in the city June 3, then assaulting its owner.  He was sentenced last week to between three years, four months and 15 years in prison with credit for 117 days already served.

Doneau was also sentenced on two drug charges.  He was given 116 days in jail for possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine, heroin, or other narcotic, and another 116 days for possession the analogue Alprazolam.

The charges stemmed from a February incident in which police discovered the drugs in his possession while they were investigating a theft from a motor vehicle.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
