Anderson pleads to crashing into Gladstone Public Safety building

ESCANABA, MI--   A Gladstone man who crashed a stolen car into the Gladstone Public Safety building in August has entered a plea in the case. 

Robert John Anderson, 33, is charged with malicious destruction of property, unlawful driving away of an automobile, possession of a controlled substance, assault of a public safety officer, and operating under the influence of drugs.

Wednesday Anderson pleaded no contest to every charge except malicious destruction of property, which will be dropped as part of the deal. 

Sentencing is set for November 19 in Delta County Circuit Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
