Mackinac Bridge meth defendant pleads

ST. IGNACE, MI--   A downstate woman who was arrested at the Mackinac Bridge in June for being in a car containing meth components has entered a plea in the case. 

Samantha Keith, 21, of Middleville and the driver, Joseph Anderson, 29, were charged with operating or maintaining a meth lab.

Anderson pleaded guilty to the charge last month and will be sentenced October 25.

Keith also pleaded guilty at a pretrial conference Friday in Mackinac County Circuit Court.  Her sentencing is set for November 9.  She and Anderson face up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
