Man who swung machete at car heads to circuit court

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette County man who attacked another man’s car with a machete has been bound over to circuit court. 

Jeffrey Anderson, 66, of Northland is accused of pulling the blade out in the parking lot of the Peninsula Medical Center after he was allegedly cut off by another driver October 17.  The other man stayed in his vehicle and dialed 911 while Anderson screamed and struck the car with the machete. 

Anderson is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and malicious destruction of personal property, punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
