Prelim scheduled for man accused of pulling knife on MGH nurse

MARQUETTE, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for a Marquette man accused of threatening a nurse with a knife.  

Robert Allen Wallace, 48, allegedly brandished the knife when the nurse spoke with him in the Marquette General Hospital emergency room waiting area Saturday night.  Officers from Northern Michigan University Public Safety responded to the scene and took the knife from Wallace without incident. 

Wallace is charged with felonious assault, punishable by up to four years in prison and a $2,000 fine. 

His preliminary exam is set for January 18 in Marquette County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
