UPDATE: Suspects in AuTrain robbery arrested

UPDATE:  3/21/13  12:20 p.m.--   Arrested were 29-year-old Richard Anthony VanPelt of Bay City and 20-year-old Samantha Jo Menerey, also of Bay City.  Both remain lodged in the Alger County Jail on a $100,000 bond, cash or surety.  A preliminary hearing is set for March 26.

BAY CITY, MI--   The Michigan State Police Fugitive Team has arrested two suspects wanted in last week’s AuTrain Township home invasion case.  

Troopers say a 29-year-old Bay City man is charged with first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, unlawful imprisonment, and armed robbery. 

A 20-year-old Bay City woman was also arrested for first-degree home invasion and armed robbery.

The man is already lodged in the Alger County Jail.  The woman was transported from Bay City to Alger County Wednesday. 

Their names will be released after arraignment. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
