Arrest made in Ishpeming bakery break-in

ISHPEMING, MI--   Ishpeming Police have arrested a Negaunee man in connection with the break-in of the Huron Mountain Bakery.  

Police responded to the bakery March 8th after someone broke into the building and took a cash box.  A surveillance camera indicated the crime had occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on the 7th

On March 9th a search warrant was executed on a Negaunee residence, where possible evidence of the break-in was seized. 

After a six-week investigation the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized an arrest warrant for Charles Raymond Elveteci, 30.  He’s charged with breaking and entering a building with intent, punishable by up to ten years in prison. 

Elveteci remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on an unrelated matter.  A preliminary exam is set for May 6th in Marquette County District Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
