Wisconsin man faces murder charge

MARINETTE, WI--   A Peshtigo, Wisconsin man being held as a person of interest in his girlfriend’s death will be charged sometime this week with first-degree murder.

That’s according to law enforcement, which is working with the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office on the criminal complaint against Brent Kaempf, 48.  Kaempf is being held in a Milwaukee County jail in connection with the death of Trish Waschbisch, 45, interim director of a domestic violence shelter.  She was found dead in her home on Sunday.

Kaempf will be transferred to the Marinette County Jail Wednesday.  Arraignment is expected Thursday or Friday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
