Firearms, stolen property prompt Matchwood Township arrests

MATCHWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two Ontonagon County men have been arrested during a State Police investigation into stolen property.  

Troopers from the Wakefield Post were looking into several breaking-and-enterings when they received information about a Matchwood Township man who allegedly possessed stolen property.  Arrest and search warrants were issued for the 34-year-old suspect and executed at his residence. 

During the search another 33-year-old man was found at the house and arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms. 

Both men remain lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail on $50,000 bonds.    

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
