Man arrested for indecent exposure in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police have arrested a man for exposing himself to women along the city bike path.

Monday around 3:15 p.m. a woman said she was walking the path between Fair Avenue and Wright Street near the Medical Center when she saw a man walk out of the woods.  The suspect exposed himself to her and another woman on the path, and she fled.

Officers took a description of the man and initiated a search.  The suspect was found hiding in a garage off of West Avenue.  The victims were brought to the scene and positively identified him.

Police say Chase Walker Rowe, 28, of Texas recently moved to Marquette.  Investigation reveals he was responsible for several other indecent exposure incidents this summer along the same area.

Rowe remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail on a charge of indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person, punishable by one day in jail up to life.

Arraignment is set for Monday in Marquette District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
