GREEN BAY, WI (AP)--   A Michigan Republican State Committee member faces charges in Wisconsin over what police say was an armed standoff with officers responding to his suicide threat.

Fifty-one-year-old Doug Sedenquist of Escanaba has a September 3rd court date in Green Bay, Wisconsin on charges of disobeying police, sending a threat and disorderly conduct.

The Detroit Free Press and the Green Bay Press Gazette say Sedenquist phoned his estranged wife March 3rd and she realized he was following her.

A complaint in Brown County, Wisconsin Circuit Court says Green Bay police surrounded Sedenquist's pickup truck. It says he pointed a rifle at his stomach and held off police about 30 minutes before surrendering.

Sedenquist also is Delta County Republican vice chairman and has worked in talk radio.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
