UPDATE--8/20/13  3:44 p.m.--   Police say investigation into the incident has led to a person of interest.  Officers executed a search warrant on a Forsyth Township residence in connection to the bomb threat.

_________

GWINN, MI--   The Forsyth Township Police Department has determined a package left in a Gwinn laundromat is not a bomb.

Monday around 6:10 p.m. officers were called to the Ultra Clean Laundromat on a report that a suspicious package had been found.

The Forsyth Fire Department, Forsyth EMS, Forsyth Public Works, Sands EMS, Sands Fire, and the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad also reported to the scene.  The bomb squad located the package and determined it did not present a danger to the public; however, it was designed and placed to look like a bomb.

Emergency services were at the scene for several hours.

Forsyth Police are asking anyone with information that could assist in the arrest of the person or persons responsible to call the department at 346-9224.
