Woman arrested for taking decorations from Crystal Falls cemetery

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   A Crystal Falls woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of items from Evergreen Cemetery.  

While investigating the case the Iron County Sheriff’s Office also uncovered evidence of theft from retail stores in Iron River.

On September 13 deputies arrested Carol Herbert, 60.  She’s charged with seven counts of receiving and concealing stolen property, four counts of larceny, and three counts of retail fraud.

A preliminary hearing is set for September 30 in Iron County Trial Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
