Officials seek information in Delta County hit-and-run

MASONVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Delta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run driver.

Deputies say Monday around 6:55 p.m. the driver of a Dodge minivan was eastbound on US-2 near Whitefish Hill in Masonville Township when she slowed for a vehicle parked on the side of the road.  A pickup truck traveling behind the van rear-ended it, sending it into the ditch.  The driver of the truck then fled the scene, heading eastbound.

The driver of the minivan was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of her injuries and released.

The pickup driver is described as a white male, possibly in his 50s.  His vehicle is described as a green Chevy extended-cab pickup with a loud exhaust.  The truck will have front-end damage.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 786-3633.
