Identity of Marquette pizza robbery suspect released

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police have released the name of the suspect in the robbery of a pizza delivery man on Valentine’s Day. 

Steven David Baker, 22, of Marquette is charged with armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearms.

Last Friday around 12:40 a.m. a man was delivering pizzas to a residence on the 100 block of West Michigan Street when he said someone pulled a gun on him and took his merchandise.  The suspect, later identified as Baker, was found in the basement of a house on West Arch Street, along with a loaded hand gun and the merchandise. 

Baker remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $200,000 bond. 

A preliminary exam is set for February 27. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
