Police arrest suspect in Marquette County hit-run

POWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — State police say authorities have arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run death of a female pedestrian in Marquette County three months ago. Michigan state police have identified the man in the fatal hit-and-run case as 46-year-old MichaelNelsNelson of Big Bay.

Fifty-four year old Robin Rahoi of Big Bay was found dead on Lighthouse Load in Powell Township on December 17.
            On Monday, the post announced that police have arrested Nelson on charges of failing to stop at the scene of a fatal accident-when at fault-resulting in death. The crime can bring up to 15 years in prison.

            A preliminary exam is scheduled for April 7th in 96th District Court. Nelson is being held in the Marquette County jail on a $150,000 cash bond..
