UPSET investigates illegal sale of prescription meds

ESCANABA, MI--   A former Marquette County resident has been arrested in Delta County for selling prescription medication.  

Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and officers from Escanaba Public Safety conducted an investigation in the city.  Thursday they arrested a 45-year-old male suspect for delivery of a Schedule II narcotic and delivery of a Schedule III narcotic. 

More than $500 in cash was also seized from the suspect, who once lived in Marquette County but now has a valid Alabama driver’s license. 

He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
