Rhinelander man dies during police chase

RHINELANDER, WI (AP)--   Authorities say a 27-year-old Rhinelander man was trying to flee police when he lost control of his car and died in a crash.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department says a Rhinelander police officer was trying to stop a vehicle for speeding around 8:30 a.m. Monday.  A chase began, and the driver—identified as Sean O’Corrain—left the roadway and ran into the ditch.  He died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
