Downstate man crashes snowmobile. In June.

LANSING, MI (AP)--   Police say a lack of snow on the ground in Michigan didn't stop a man from taking a snowmobile for a ride.

Lansing police say officers responded about 7 p.m. Sunday to an alley on a report of a snowmobile crash. Police say a 43-year-old man appeared to have been going at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a tree. He was taken to a hospital for observation.

Police say they took a blood sample from the driver and will ask the Ingham County prosecutor's office to charge him with operating while impaired and operating with a suspended license.

The man's name wasn't immediately released by police.
