GOGEBIC COUNTY, MI -   State Police have arrested two western Upper Peninsula men in connection with the theft of copper in Ontonagon County. Troopers served search warrants on two separate residences in Gogebic County and took into custody a 25-year year old man from Ramsay and a 27-year old man from Bessemer. The copper was taken from the Carp Lake Township – White Pine area. Both suspects posted $10,000 bond. State Police are continuing their investigation with the possibility the suspects may be responsible for other thefts in the surrounding area.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s department assisted in serving the search warrants and in arresting the subjects.
