String of break-ins at Copper Country shops prompts reward

CALUMET, MI--   The owners of auto repair shops in Houghton and Keweenaw counties are offering an award for information leading to the conviction of those who have broken into the businesses.  

State Police at the Calumet Post say break-ins at 25 shops are being investigated.  A $12,250 reward is offered for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.   

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins is asked to call the Calumet Post at 337-5145, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department at 482-0055, or Hancock Police at 482-3102.
