Forsyth Township man arrested for extortion

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Gwinn man is in the Marquette County Jail on extortion and other charges. 

The Forsyth Township Police Department arrested Phillip Robinson, 18, for possession of child sexually abusive material.  He’s also accused of possessing nude photos of local females and using the pictures to extort the victims. 

The child pornography charge is punishable by up to four years in prison and a $10,000 fine.  Extortion carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
