Gwinn man charged with strangling his girlfriend

GWINN, MI--   A Gwinn man has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence incident last week.

Thursday around 12:30 p.m. Forsyth Township Police were called to the 400 block of North River Drive on a report of an assault.  Investigation revealed Brandon James Strohm, 29, had choked his 25-year-old girlfriend.

As Strohm was lodged in the Marquette County Jail a file check indicated he had an outstanding assault warrant from a separate incident.

Strohm is charged with assault by strangulation.  He faces up to ten years in prison if convicted as charged.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
