Houghton County man arrested for B&E, safe breaking

CALUMET, MI--   A Calumet man has been arrested for breaking into an area business last week.

Isaac Laplander, 36, was taken into custody Monday by city police and lodged in the Houghton County Jail.  He’s charged with breaking and entering a building with intent and safe breaking.

Laplander’s accused of breaking into Harter’s Auto Supply April 23 and taking chain saws and tools.  He also allegedly broke into the business’ safe and stole a large amount of money. 

Laplander faces up to life in prison if convicted as charged.
